Calendar & Poster Design

Summer 2017

This calendar was inspired by the creation of the Brooklyn Bridge. The overall design reflects the nightlife of New York City, through the silhouette design and the changing color of the lights. The poster design is another representation of the creation of the bridge, but in a two dimensional format.

This was an opportunity to work with typography creatively. The irregular shapes created by the support beams on the bridge proposed challenges. Additionally, because the calendar was going to be laser cut, it was important to consider the positive and negative space. While trying to be playful with the text, I also needed to maintain legibility. By creating a system for type treatment, I was able to make a unified and dynamic design.
